What we collect
- Account: your email address, for signing in — plus the name and email a social provider passes on when you sign in with one.
- Service data: the words, meanings and examples you save, and your review history (whether each answer was correct, and how long it took).
- Notifications: if you turn review reminders on, this device's push token and the time you asked to be reminded at.
Why we use it
- To store and sync your words and to schedule their reviews (the core of the service).
- To send review reminders (optional, and you can turn them off at any time).
- To manage paid subscriptions. Payment details themselves are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe; we never store them.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account immediately deletes every word, review record and push token. To request deletion: email us
Sharing with others
We do not sell or hand your personal data to third parties, except where the law requires it. Our processors — Resend (email), Expo (push notifications) and Apple App Store, Google Play and Stripe (payments) — handle only what they need to do their part.
International transfers
To provide the service, some processing happens outside Korea, as outsourced processing for the core features (sign-in email, review reminders):
- Resend, Inc. (a US company; sending is processed in the Tokyo, Japan region) — what: your email address and the sign-in email's content; when and how: sent over encrypted connections (TLS) at the moment a sign-in email goes out; retention: deleted once the processor's operational log window has passed.
- 650 Industries, Inc. (Expo, US) — what: this device's push token and the reminder's content and time, only if you turn review reminders on; when and how: sent over encrypted connections when a reminder is delivered; retention: the token is deleted as soon as you turn reminders off or delete your account.
Questions or objections regarding these transfers: email us. Note that they are essential to the sign-in and reminder features, so objecting may limit those features.
